Online Giving FAQs
Q: Are electronic contributions safe?
Yes. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check or donating cash, and it cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail. All Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transactions are governed by strict national rules and guidelines.
Q: What methods can I use to give online?
You may give online from Faithbridge's website using automatic bank draft (eCheck), or Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and (coming soon) American Express cards. Or you may schedule contributions to Faithbridge using your bank's online bill pay service.
Q: Can I use a debit card?
You may use your debit card if it features a Visa or MasterCard logo and can be processed without a PIN. You cannot use a PIN-only debit card due to the sensitivity of securely requesting a PIN.
Q: What fees are involved with giving online?
No fees are charged to you for giving online through Faithbridge's website, and 100% of your contribution will be counted as a charitable gift for tax purposes. However, if you wish to maximize the amount of your gift that reaches Faithbridge, please note the processing fees charged to Faithbridge per contribution:
-
Your bank's online bill pay service $0.16
-
Automatic bank draft (eCheck) $0.50
-
Debit card (Visa or MasterCard) 1.9% + $0.23
-
Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) 2.15% + $0.38
-
Credit card (American Express) 3.5% + $0.33
Q: Can I schedule a contribution?
Yes. You may schedule the frequency, start date, and duration for recurring contributions. One-time contributions may be made immediately or scheduled for a specific date.
Q: If I want to set up a recurring gift, what are my options for frequency of my gift?
For recurring gifts, you can specify whether you want your contribution made weekly, every two weeks, twice per month (1st and 16th), monthly, quarterly, or yearly. You can set up as many schedules as you would like, so it is possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one.
Q: Can I choose the designation for my gift?
Yes, you can designate your gift as Tithe/Offering, Missions (Bridging), or Building Campaign.
Q: How do I split a contribution across more than one fund?
To designate your gift to more than one fund, please set up a separate contribution for each designation (Tithe/Offering, Missions (Bridging), or Building Campaign).
Q: Can I change my account information, amount, or frequency of my recurring gift?
Yes. You can change or cancel a contribution at any time before the date of your next contribution. Simply log in with your email address and password to make the necessary changes.
Q: Can I review my donation history online?
Yes. You may log in and scroll to the bottom of the giving window to view your contribution history or print a contribution statement. When you first create your account, you will not have access to your previous contribution history until your account information has been verified to match our current records. If there is any question, we will contact you before linking your online account to your contribution history.
Q: Will I still receive regular contribution statements from the church?
Yes. Faithbridge will continue to send contribution statements to your address on file for tax purposes.
Q: When will contributions be taken from my account?
Contributions will be taken from your specified bank account within 48 business hours of the date you requested. This time frame allows time for the contribution to process through your bank and the church’s bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day. For your donation to be credited the same day (e.g., year end gifts for tax purposes), choose the option I would like to make this contribution immediately rather than specifying a certain date for your contribution.
Q: How will I know that I set up my gift correctly?
Immediately after submitting your contribution, you will receive an e-mail verifying your contribution.
Q. What is the contribution limit for an online giving transaction?
A. Online Giving can process transactions up to $25,000. For special gifts above this amount, you may submit multiple online giving transactions, send a check, or contact Brian McGown at 281-320-7588 x129 for assistance.
Q: Does it matter which Internet browser I use?
No. Any browser will work.
Q: How do I change my email address or password?
To change your password or email address, log in and then, click on the Account link in the upper left corner. Or you can reset your password if you forget it. If you need help or cannot remember the email address you used, please contact Barbara Hearne or Eileen Coffman at accounting@faithbridge.org or 281-320-7588.
Q: Who can I talk to if I have additional questions about online giving?
